The Y gradient here, fakes self shadowing by applying a darker color at the bottom of the fluid (right side of ramp), and the lighter color on top. The incandescence also uses a Y gradient and a cool color that is not quite black. This bit of color brightens up the shadow area, allowing you to see more detail in the shadow. The warm on top and cool on the bottom coloration enhances the sense of warm sun above and cooler reflected light below.\r\n The opacity graph emphasizes the greater density values opacity while assigning no opacity to the less dense areas. This gets rid of the light fuzz in the fluid, while beefing up other areas, to give the sense of separate clouds existing in a single fluid.\r\n The detailed texturing is achieved by setting the depth max to 4, and by using a relatively high frequency for the size of the fluid.
